Do the Hard Things.

Updated: May 23
This is one of the big lessons my Creator has been teaching me. It applies to so many areas of my life because for so long I have been gripped by fear, distraction, lack of motivation, and disappointment in myself. These things kept me barely functioning for a long time and the guilt of the little I was doing, and how poorly I was doing those things just compounded it all. No need to go into details right now, just to say this... it is so worth it to FEAR ONLY God, and just, Do the Hard Things. That's the other lesson He has been teaching me for some years now. And I love that He is teaching me these things. I love seeing the changes in my life. I love seeing how the changes in me positively impact my children. Thank You King!
I wanted to celebrate this somehow and carry it with me. My husband and I had attempted to start a clothing brand a few years ago and it still excites us to put good words on fabric. So, I made a design that is special to me.

I did not make the hoodie, but I love this baggy look. One of the things I am learning is to sew! I am very excited about this, but it is definitely a journey. I also decided to learn how to repair and service sewing machines. This again, is a whole new world for me, but the more I considered learning this trade the more excited I got. There has always been a bit of a tinkerer in me, that again, I have not fully explored. So, as I started learning more about sewing machines, I was introduced to the Singer 99, a beautiful part of history that can easily be used today. It looks so strong and capable! I told my husband if he ever wants to get me something special... hint, hint.
The words and the sewing machine were the main message to me, but I added the Sakura blossoms because of their beauty and because they are meaningful in Japan. That is where I spent my first year of marriage, so the country holds a special place in my heart.
Mostly... I am. I am doing the hard things with God's help! This brings such joy to my soul, the fact that I am having Proverbs 31 Hands. Servant hands that are learning good skills and working willingly! I am one decision at a time, becoming a Proverbs 31 woman who is serving family God's way.
What hard things is God teaching you to do?
